All things are poison, and nothing is without poison: the dose makes the poison.

Poison, 2024, is a full-length portrait of a mature woman wearing Céline® glasses, in which is vaguely reflected a tempestuous red background of Chinese lacquer and Helios red. Her slightly scintillating, luminous green dress trails down to her Swiffer® slippers. An armoured witch from the video game Eldenring® causes a bottle containing a skull to levitate above her razor-gloved hand. The turquoise and pink inscription POISON runs across the scene.

Heart Words Death, 2023, is made up of two parts. The lower one uses an advertisement for the Disneyland Paris® amusement park, in which can be seen a child hugging the costumed character of the grandfather hero of the cartoon Up. An ochre-yellow character bringing to mind a hybrid human/animal creature, with a grazed snout and green “Slime” hair, wears a mechanical apparatus for hunting ghosts, inspired from the film Ghostbusters. The words Heart Death Words in Futura font frame the scene, on a lemon-yellow background.

Dawn of Chromatica, 2024, a tempestuous image on a white background, depicts two beings with outsized scrotums. With their imperfect, coloured skin and their Pokémon and Predator looks, they seem to be from another planet. In the foreground, a set of teeth or stones stands out, inspired by the cover of the album Dawn of Chromatica by the American artist Lady Gaga. They could be taken for the assemblage of prehistoric stones at Stonehenge, floating in an abstract foreground around two red fruits drifting in the middle of the painting.

Mood, 2024, is the largest painting in the show and it depicts three characters wearing green kimonos in what might be taken for an inn. We recognise them as Brad Pitt, the Joker from the film The Dark Knight, played by Heath Ledger, and a kind of Mickey Mouse, whose head seems to be detached from the rest of its body. The upper section contains a dubious pictorial representation of fake marble, and a candyfloss sky. The rather uncertain overall scene gives free play to the imagination to interpret freely the activities of these characters in a medieval-inspired setting with yellowish-brown hues.

Peur, 2024, is a half-length portrait of a character with a clownish appearance, in a state of decomposition, which dominates the viewer. Its eyes are masked by the image of an animal with red, globular eyes. The word Peur [Fear] floats above its forehead and dark hair, decked with gleaming disks, while its neck is festooned with an immaculate white scarf. Its fingerless hands are laid on its thighs, in a suggestive pose, and its legs seem to be wearing soft creamy stockings. The background is a shading of fluorescent pink to lemon yellow.

4ric.C, 2024. Two white figures stand out from a green background with impressionist tones. In the background can be seen purple flowers or fruit. The hair of the hirsute figure is shaped like a palm tree, its almond eyes are lemon yellow, with cobalt blue rings. In its left hand, it holds a transparent plexiglas cube, each of its facets being printed with a question mark. The lower character’s smooth face is simply run through by a pink eyelash line, reminiscent of a worm. It has an seemingly joyful expression. The two faces are aligned vertically, entirely concealing their bodies. Between Western comic books and manga, this unreal scene seems to suggest coition. An advertisement for Deezer®, a music streaming service, appears in the upper right corner, superimposed over the whole. A darkly coloured block bears the inscription 4RIC C.

Poison, 2024, représente une femme d’âge mûr en pied portant des lunettes Céline®, dans lesquelles se reflète vaguement le fond rouge tempétueux de laque chinoise et de rouge helios. Sa robe verte lumineuse, partiellement scintillante tombe sur ses pantoufles Swiffer®. Une sorcière en armure du jeu video Eldenring® fait léviter un flacon contenant une tête de mort au dessus de sa main aux gants acérés. L’inscription POISON turquoise et rose se superpose à l’ensemble.

Heart Words Death, 2023, est composé en deux parties. La partie inférieure emprunte une publicité pour le parc d’attraction Disneyland Paris® où l’on voit un enfant enlaçant le personnage costumé du grand-père héros du film d’animation Là-Haut. Un personnage ocre-jaune rappelant un être hybride humain/animal au museau écorché et a la chevelure verte “Slime”, porte un dispositif mécanique de chasse aux fantômes inspiré du film Ghostbusters. Les mots Heart Death Words en typographie Futura encadrent la scène sur un fond jaune citron.

Dawn of Chromatica, 2024, image tempétueuse au fond blanc figure deux êtres aux scrotums démesurés. Aux allures de Pokémon et de Predator, ils semblent d’une autre planète. Leur chair imparfaite est colorée. Se détache au premier plan un ensemble de dents ou de pierres inspirées par la pochette de l’album Dawn of Chromatica de l’artiste américaine Lady Gaga. Cet ensemble qui pourrait ressembler aux assemblages des pierre préhistoriques de Stonehenge, flotte dans un premier plan abstrait autour de deux fruits rouges flottant au milieu du tableau.

Mood, 2024, est le plus grand tableau de l’exposition et représente trois personnages vêtus de kimonos verts situés dans ce qui pourrait s’apparenter à une taverne. On peut y reconnaitre Brad Pitt, le joker du film Dark Night interprété par Heath Ledger et une sorte de Mickey dont la tête semble détachée du reste de son corps. Le plan supérieur présente une réalisation picturale douteuse de faux marbre, et un ciel en barbe à papa. L’ensemble de la scène, assez flou, laisse l’imaginaire interpréter librement l’activité de ces personnages dans ce décor d’inspiration médiévale aux tonalités brunes jaunâtres.

Peur, 2024, est le portrait en demi longueur d’un personnage à l’allure clownesque en instance de décomposition qui domine le spectateur. Ses yeux sont masqués par l’image d’un animal aux yeux rouges et globuleux. Le mot PEUR flotte au dessus de son front et de sa chevelure sombre orné de disques scintillants et son cou est orné d’un foulard blanc immaculé. Ses mains sans doigts reposent sur ses cuisses dans une pose suggestive et ses jambes semblent porter des bas doux et mousseux. Le fond est dégradé du rose fluo au jaune citron.

4ric.C, 2024. Deux figures blanches se détachent sur un fond vert aux accents impressionistes, on y distingue dans le fond des fleurs ou fruits de couleur pourpre. L’une des figures à la chevelure hirsute en forme de palmier, a des yeux en amandes jaune citron, des cernes bleu de cobalt. Elle tient dans sa main gauche un cube en plexiglas transparent dont chacune des faces est imprimé d’un point d’interrogation. Le personnage inférieur a un visage lisse simplement traversé par une ligne de sourcil rose rappelant un lombric, son expression parait joyeuse. Les deux visages sont alignés verticalement masquant l’ensemble de leur corps. Entre comics et manga la scène irréaliste semble suggérer un acte de coït. Superposé à l’ensemble, figure une publicité pour Deezer® un service de streaming musical dans le coin supérieur droit. Un bloc de couleur sombre porte l’inscription 4RIC C.
